Description
Tesamorelin Research Kit (x3)
Bulk research pack of Tesamorelin, a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH 1-44) with an N-terminal trans-3-hexenoyl modification that improves plasma stability. This kit contains 3 × 10 mg vials (30 mg total) of lyophilized Tesamorelin — approximately a 30-day research-reference supply at 1 mg/day. For the single-vial monograph see Tesamorelin (10mg).
Mechanism of Action (Research Context)
Tesamorelin binds the GHRH receptor on pituitary somatotrophs, stimulating pulsatile endogenous growth hormone release. The N-terminal modification extends plasma half-life versus native GHRH (Ferdinandi et al., Basic Clin Pharmacol Toxicol, 2007).
Compound Properties (per vial)
- Compound: Tesamorelin (trans-3-hexenoyl-Tyr1-hGHRH 1-44 amide)
- Molecular Formula: C221H366N72O67S
- Molecular Weight: ~5195.8 g/mol
- CAS Number: 218949-48-5
- Form: Lyophilized white powder
- Purity: ≥98% (HPLC)
- Kit Contents: 3 × 10 mg vials (30 mg total)
Research-Reference Dosing
Published clinical protocols in HIV-associated lipodystrophy used 2 mg/day SC (Falutz et al., NEJM, 2007). Lower research protocols commonly reference 1 mg/day, consistent with the 30 mg / 30-day supply in this kit.
What the Kit Includes
- Lyophilized peptide vials (see quantities below)
- Syringes (insulin-gauge)
- Alcohol prep pads
- Reconstitution solution
- Mixing syringe
Add $15 if you want us to reconstitute your vials before shipping.
Research Findings
- FDA-approved (EGRIFTA) for HIV-associated lipodystrophy — reduces visceral adipose tissue ~15-18% vs. placebo over 26 weeks (Falutz et al., 2007; Stanley et al., JAMA, 2014).
- Modest IGF-1 elevation reported; generally well-tolerated with injection-site reactions most common.
Known Side Effects Reported in Trials
- Injection-site erythema, pruritus, pain
- Arthralgia and peripheral edema (low incidence)
- Mild glucose tolerance changes — monitored in diabetic subjects
Storage & Handling
- Unopened lyophilized vials: refrigerate at 2-8 °C; long-term storage at −20 °C recommended. Protect from light.
- After reconstitution: refrigerate at 2-8 °C and use within 14-28 days per standard peptide stability guidance.
- Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted material.
Shipping
UPS 2-Day shipping: $7 Texas / $12 out of state / $35 for ICE (insulated cold pack).
